Gary Canon performs both Business Valuation and Merger & Acquisition advisory services on behalf of the firm. Valuation work includes purchase price allocation under ASC 805 and annual impairment testing under ASC 360 and 350 for large private and small publicly-traded companies. He performs annual ESOP valuations as well as estate and gift and recapitalization valuation projects.
M&A advisory services include structuring transactions for sale to employee groups, preliminary feasibility studies, assisting in the negotiation of the final agreed upon price, and preparing confidential information memorandums needed for financing. M&A advisory services to middle-market companies involved preparation and review of business memorandums, analysis of LOIs and post-acquisition structures.
Gary is a Certified Public Accountant, Texas (1986), Accredited Senior Appraiser (2012), Accredited in Business Valuation (2005), Member, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Member, American Society of Appraisers, and Member, Texas Society of CPAs (State & Houston Chapters). He graduated Texas A&M University with a BBA in Accounting in 1984.
He holds the Investment Banking Representative (Series 79), Uniform Securities Agent (Series 63), and Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) licenses from FINRA and the SEC.
