Walter Tomlinson
Principal
Walter Tomlinson joined Statesman as a Principal in 1998 and has over 22 years of experience in middle-market business sales and operations. Prior to Statesman, Walter accumulated over 12 years of direct management and operational experience within several different industrial related companies in which he was involved as an owner operator and a major shareholder. This tenure included hands-on chief operating roles in start-up, rapid growth and turnaround situations, and also in structuring and negotiating business acquisitions and sales. Walter’s extensive operational background proves extremely valuable in advising Statesman’s clients on positioning businesses for sale, strategic planning to maximize value, business sales/ purchase negotiations and structuring, growth strategy planning. Since joining Statesman, Walter has been instrumentally involved in the successful completion of numerous mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations and strategic planning engagements. He is a graduate of the University of Houston with a BBA in Finance. Walter is registered with FINRA as a General Securities Principal / Investment Banker (Series 7, 24, 63, and 79).
Walter is actively involved in numerous civic and non-profit organizations. He currently serves on the Boards of The Center for Houston’s Future, the TMF Heath Quality Institute, the Confucian Lyceum Institute (an exchange program with a high-level entity within the Chinese government), and is active in Boy Scouts. He is also a Former Chairman of the Texas Lyceum Association and a founding stakeholder and mentor in the University of Houston’s Entrepreneur Program. Walter is married with three children.
